Cookie Policy

Updated October 22, 2026

Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Expert Insights Tech Ltd (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on BackupVerdict.

This policy provides the detailed information about website tracking referenced in our Privacy Policy. Read the two together: the Privacy Policy explains our wider use of personal information, disclosures to other organizations, and your data protection rights.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. They can help keep you signed in, remember your choices, and recognize your browser on later visits.

We also use technologies such as browser local storage, session storage, scripts, and tags. These can store information on your device or collect information about your device and activity. In this policy, “cookies and similar technologies” covers these technologies as well as traditional cookies.

Some technologies operate through BackupVerdict, while others involve the service providers identified below. A technology can involve a third party even when it is delivered through our website’s own domain.

2. Your choices

Our cookie settings provide two optional categories: Analytics and session replay and Marketing and business insights. Both are off until you choose to enable them.

  • Accept all: allow both optional categories.
  • Reject all: keep both optional categories off.
  • Save my choices: allow only the optional categories you select.

Essential technologies remain active where needed to provide the website or a feature you request. You can browse our content without accepting optional technologies. Signing in or submitting a form does not automatically give permission for optional tracking.

3. Essential technologies

We use essential technologies to operate the website, protect it against abuse, provide account access, and remember your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off through our cookie settings.

Service What it does
Cloudflare, including Turnstile Protects the website and forms against malicious traffic, automated abuse, and security threats. Turnstile checks whether interactions are likely to come from a person rather than a bot.
Cloudflare Zaraz consent management Records your choices so we can apply them when you browse or return to the website.
Stytch Supports authentication and sign-in sessions, including access to account features and restricted content you request.
BackupVerdict and its website platform Supports necessary website functions, session handling, and security checks.

Only storage and access needed for these functions is treated as essential. Analytics or marketing activity is governed by the optional categories below.

4. Analytics and session replay — optional

With your permission, we use the following services to understand how people use BackupVerdict and improve our content and website.

Service What we use it for
Google Analytics Measures visits, traffic sources, page views, device information, and interactions with our content.
PostHog Analyzes navigation and interactions, such as which reviews people read and where they encounter problems. It also supports session replay.
Microsoft Clarity Provides heatmaps and session replays to help us understand clicks, scrolling, navigation, and usability problems.

These services can receive browser and device information, identifiers, page addresses, referral information, and details of your interactions. Session replay reconstructs how you use our pages from page content and interaction events.

If you sign in and allow analytics, we may associate your activity with your BackupVerdict account in PostHog. This helps us understand how registered readers use our content. This information is not necessarily anonymous.

Microsoft Clarity can use both first-party and third-party cookies, including identifiers used across Microsoft services. Microsoft describes additional uses of some identifiers, including advertising and other operational purposes, in its privacy information. The identifiers used depend on the service configuration and consent signals.

Further information is available in Google’s Privacy Policy, PostHog’s Privacy Policy, and Microsoft’s Privacy Statement.

5. Marketing and business insights — optional

With your permission, we use Bombora Visitor Insights to help identify companies visiting BackupVerdict and understand how business audiences engage with our website.

Bombora can process technical information, such as IP addresses and browser identifiers, together with information about pages viewed and website interactions. It uses this information to help associate visits with a business and provide company-level insights.

We use these insights to understand our business audience and inform relevant marketing. Company-level reports do not mean that the underlying technical information is anonymous. Further information is available in Bombora’s Privacy Policy.

6. How we manage these services

We use Cloudflare Zaraz and Google Tag Manager to manage certain services and apply cookie choices. Your choices apply to the underlying analytics and business-insight activities, including where information is passed to a provider through our own infrastructure.

Some providers also determine purposes for processing the information they receive, such as operating and improving their services and, where enabled and permitted by your choices, advertising-related purposes. The provider privacy notices linked above explain their practices. Our Privacy Policy explains our disclosures and your rights in more detail.

7. How long information stays on your device

Some cookies last for a visit or sign-in session. Others persist between visits until they expire or are removed. The table below gives the cookie durations for each service.

Browser local storage can have a different lifetime from cookies. For example, PostHog uses both cookies and local storage. Local storage does not automatically expire with a cookie and may remain until it is cleared or removed by the website.

Service or purpose Cookie duration
Cookie choices — Cloudflare Zaraz 90 days
Security — Cloudflare 30 minutes
Stytch sign-in 30 days
Google Analytics Up to 400 days
PostHog Up to 365 days
Microsoft Clarity Between 1 and 365 days
Bombora Visitor Insights Between 0 and 400 days; third-party cookies set by Bombora

These cookie lifetimes do not determine how long collected information remains in our systems or a provider’s systems. Our Privacy Policy explains our approach to personal information retention.

8. Changing your choices

You can change or withdraw your optional permissions at any time using Cookie settings in the website footer, then saving your choices. Withdrawing permission stops future collection for that optional category. It does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before you withdrew permission.

You can also use your browser settings to inspect, block, or delete cookies and other site data. Blocking essential storage may affect sign-in and other website functions. Deleting the storage that remembers your choices may cause us to ask for your preferences again.

Removing cookies does not automatically delete information already held by us or our providers. To ask about that information or exercise your data protection rights, use the contact details below.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our technologies or practices change. We will update the date above. If we introduce an optional purpose that your existing permission does not cover, we will ask for the appropriate permission before using it.
